Wow, it's already June 5th!!! I'm a bit late on this post I guess then! I suppose we can all relate: this month has just flown by: we've been so, so very busy as life keeps throwing more and more at us to fill it with!
On the personal creativity front, I finally conquered a few beasts that had been haunting me for months: I finally completed a zippy coin purse that I'm mostly satisfied with, and I also correctly completed this knit herringbone cowl that I had to rework 5 times! Good thing I had enough patience to carry me through! In the midst of those learning curves, I started my weekly giveaway of my novice sewing projects that I just don't have a need for.
On the home front, we chugged along with our home renovation projects and got quite a bit done. I painted the main level of our house, which means I've now painted every wall & ceiling we own! As a reward to myself, I fixed up the back deck with some lovely plants and a cute table set. Next, I started working on a few finishing touches to our newly painted guest room. What do you know? Brown and grey actually sort of go together.
And of course there's got to be a section on food! I made 76 jars of strawberry jam for our upcoming wedding reception favors. Blueberry soon to come! I also discussed how I'm keeping on track with my health & diet goals by eating local and in season farmer's market foods. Finally, I took a bit of a break to let my mind wander while making jam and contemplated ways to leave a bit of head room in your daily schedule for stress management.
Overall, May was a wonderful, packed full month. I know that momentum will carry over into June as we hustle on last minute wedding reception preparations, and to get the house finished and put together before the end of the month!
