Friday Updates- Health, Stepping Down, and Moving Forward.

Happy Friday all!  This past week has really flown by, mostly due to a crazy to do list coupled with my race training schedule.  I've also have a bit of an announcement regarding my continued de cluttering of my online schedule.

I'll start with the big news.  Many of you know that I've written for my beloved site A Little Etsy Love for two years now.  I've lead it for just under one year.  It's been a crazy ride, and I'm so happy with all of the benefits the site has reaped for me over this time including new contacts, friends even, a chance to learn even more about the business of blogging, social networking, SEO, and all of that administrative type stuff.  However, ever since I wrote this article about deleting many of my personal social networking accounts I just couldn't stop thinking that maybe it was also time to move on from A Little Etsy Love too.

I've worked really hard writing here over the years, enjoyed it greatly, and plan to continue at least through the holidays. But I just know that continuing on as their leader isn't for me for a myriad of reasons both personal and business related.

I finally ordered a stamp for my labels!  More on that later.

In other news, this week has been semi-productive creatively.   I say that because I did have the chance to complete a few new items for my holiday show coming up in early December, but of course it's never nearly enough!  I have figured a way around this though: I only signed up for a 6 foot table, so my space will already be limited due to the larger nature of my products.  I decided all I can do is make what I can, and then I'll fill in the gap with a fabric swatch board and take custom orders (hopefully!) from folks who like what they see but would like the designs in different colors.  This will be perfect anyway as this line is brand new and I don't plan to put anything in my shop until after the holidays, so that will make it even more special (again, hopefully!) to folks that they are getting something that hasn't yet hit the market.

And finally, the 5k count down continues!  I've been working really hard, getting my body used to running again every day.  I do take rest days when my body says to, and I'm ever aware of when I should hold back vs. when I can get away with pushing my speed or my run distance.  Because of this, I'm proud to say that I'm running about the same types of workouts that I was pre-concussion, so that's great news!  I've got just one full week left before the race, which is on the 18th, but I'll be ready!

Question: What have you been up to this week?

It's good that you know when to say no, and when to step back from something. Being stressed out and overwhelmed isn't fun, anyway!

Good luck with your race training! Sounds like you'll be ready!

Well, first of all change is good! second...love those bags, and I know the feeling of stressing about having enough product for shows...my first one of the season is a week away! Lastly...way to go on the running! Its amazing how our bodies adapt, with training, isn't it? I cannot believe the physical things I can do now, that 2 years ago would have been damn near impossible!

I'm glad that things are progressing nicely with your new line and that the race training is going well! I know that moving away from some of the online tasks will be freeing for you and allow you to spend more time on your shop and personal endeavors.

I love that you're taking a look at your life and focusing on what matters most.
I love the new purses and I bet they'll do great at the show. You'll be surprised at how fast a 6' table fills up!
And good luck at your race...it will be here before you know it!

I love, love, LOVE those bags! They are fabulous! I'm sure those will sell fast at the show because I know they'd get my attention! It's good you're back to pre-concussion workouts too!

Those bags look fantastic. I think it's smart to make them in solid colors since the design has it's own flair :). I'm sure they will sell fast.

And good for you for focusing your energy. I'm sure it's hard to let go but it sounds like you're doing the best thing.

I hate to see you step down on Etsy love because I think you have made it a much better site. I go there all the time to see what is new...I hope it continues to be a nice site.

Good job on the running!! Wow! That race sure popped up fast. I admire that you can set your mind to things like that and accomplish them.

Love your new bags and your new stamp! I honor your decision to pare back even further on social media obligations. I know that in my own life, I have come to the realization that I need to blog less and sew more if my business is to thrive.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! Nice labels and bags! Good for you for defining your priorities and sticking to it. I have trouble with that sometimes. And congrats on the training too. I really need to get back to daily exercise. Life has been a little hectic lately but I always feel so much better when I'm exercising. Must do! :)
Good luck in the race!

I feel the same about Etsy Germany Streetteam Blog - I've been the sole writer for a year now and I'm not sure I have the time anymore!
Your show sounds exciting. Good luck!!
